Duluth
I was in Duluth this week for a SME show, but had a chance on Wednesday to get up to Enger Park, which I had never been to before. The park has a 5 story tower, with an amazing view of the harbor. Despite the fact it was about 45 or 50 in Duluth, the wind at the top of the tower was piercing.
A freighter was on it's way out. Probably with a load of grain or iron. That's the Aerial Bridge, now lowered.
Here's a shot of the city of Duluth.
I also got a nice panoramic shot from a slightly lower spot in the park.
Crabapple? Gone!
We finally got rid of the crabapple tree in the backyard. For those unfamiliar, here's a picture. Notice how the tree is perfectly in the middle of the yard, and obviously had never been trimmed by previous owners. So it grew sideways. It doesn't help that it's nearly completely shadowed by the elm.
After shot. Northeast Tree did the removal, because I had my power lines running thru the tree. They did a nice job, quick removal and cleanup.
Obviously I didn't want a stump in the backyard, so they removed that too. I believe they made a mistake the first time, because a different stump on the side of the yard had been removed too. So thanks for that!
Now we've got a lot more room and a nice big backyard that can actually be used!
